Talking with Students About The Business Of Web Design
I recently held a Web Design clinic at Art Institute of Sacramento to help students learn the ropes of hosted CMS tools. The visit morphed into a very interesting discussion and general brain dump on the business of Web Design.A Change in Our Terms: Webvanta Now Free for 30 Days
Today we made a change in our pricing and terms. In the past, Webvanta was free as long as your site was in development. Starting today, Webvanta is free for 30 days, whether your site is in development or is completed.
Recommended Upgrades: Firefox 3.6 and Firebug 1.5
Last week, Mozilla released Firefox 3.6, the lastest version of most web designers' favorite browser. We highly recommend the upgrade. Unlike the more minor releases, it appears that users are not automatically prompted for the upgrade, so you may need to download it manually.
Should You Use a CMS? Yes!
We often hear from designers who have been building static web sites for years, and question whether they need to shift to using a content management system (CMS). They're comfortable with their workflow, typically building sites in Dreamweaver and then pushing them up to a server via FTP. We're biased, of course, but we fervently believe that the answer is an unqualified YES. Here's why.
Revamping Our Admin Interface
If you've been following Webvanta for some time, it will come as no surprise that we're continually adding new features and refining the system. Never has a month gone by without a significant enhancement being deployed. And this will go on for a long time: this task that we took upon ourselves, to build a fantastic system that lets you build nearly any kind of site, quickly and efficiently, and make it look and behave exactly how you want, is a big one!

Webvanta Series A Financing Closed
I am pleased to announce that we have closed our Series A financing. With this additional capital, we have the resources to continue advancing our products, ramp up our marketing efforts, and add support staff.
